Question Answered step-by-step What would the following be: Naturalistic Observation Study… What would the following be:Naturalistic Observation Study Information: Hypothesis: IV/Group Difference (as measured/operationalized): DV (as measured/operationalized):You listed the thing you are measuring in the IV/DV above. Now list the psychological construct (theoretical idea) represented by those variables here IV construct/variable: DV construct: Background of the observational study: Participants The participants selected for this study represent members of a local gym. With an average age of 36 from the participants selected, the minimum age was 18 with the max age listed at 57. All participants within this study are comprised of various races such as African Americans, Asian, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, White, and Indian. This study includes both male and female participants. Out of the 65 participants that participated in the study, 67 percent have completed a college level education whist all participants have completed 12 years of education i.e. high school. Ethics approval was obtained from the university board before recruitment began. Participants were recruited in person at the local gym prior to the start of the study. Materials The primary outcomes measured were the adherence to social norms within a pro-social environment. Such behaviors measured were the actual act of participant’s wiping their feet upon entry into the gym facility. In person observations were made by me as annotations were logged in a notebook for every time the desired behavior was either completed or not completed. Additionally, previously installed cameras at the gym were used to review footage of participants during my physical absence from the gym. Procedure Participants were observed from 2 different time spans. These time spans included an in-person observation from 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM and another observation was made through recorded camera footage from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. These observed times accurately reflect the actual time slots at the local gym for when training was to occur also known as the “morning crew and afternoon crew”. These observations were conducted over the course of 5 days which started on a Monday and ended on a Friday. Each time a participant was observed engaging or not engaging in the desired behavior that being the wiping of their feet upon entry to the gym facility it would be annotated on a chart which reflected the participants age and gender. Please feel free to add any additional insight, tips, tweaks and or suggestions that will help further improve / validate the observational study. Thank you in advance!
