Question Answered step-by-step what can i reflect on in the subject pharmacology in nursing using… what can i reflect on in the subject pharmacology in nursing using the Gibbs cycle of reflection. Below is an example. In the subject, Pharmacology for Nursing, I learnt in Module 3 that antibiotic suspensions had to be kept in the fridge. I posted about this on the Discussion Board and some students replied to my post and said that this was not what they had seen in the hospital. I started feeling a little anxious and became upset that the registered nurses on the wards were not doing what was required to ensure the antibiotic was stored safely. After learning about this in Module 3, I felt happy that I would be doing the right thing and from the responses to my post the other students were not only disappointed with the practice but also relieved that they had learnt the correct way of doing things. The good thing about this is that if it had not been brought up on the Discussion Board, we may not have been aware that this incorrect practice occurs, and it gives us the confidence to challenge it when we go on clinical as the registered nurses may not be aware of this requirement. In order to be able to challenge registered nurses on this topic, I need to build my confidence and knowledge base. To enable me to be able to do this, I will increase the amount of time I study for Pharmacology to build my knowledge and I will start challenging my tutor in class. With regards to my nursing practice, I will ensure that I store the antibiotic safely and educate other nurses on this requirement.
