Although children often have friends, a family will be there through thick and thin; therefore, they can understand any circumstance that life may bring; thus, a sense of family can provide both physical and emotional support.3 Often, young adults think that they have life figured out; however, life will bring challenges that they will have to learn to overcome. For instance, if a divorce occurs or a job is lost, a move back to the family home may have to happen. Consequently, the returning child will have to learn to adjust to new surroundings and, hopefully, this will help them learn to adapt and move on more quickly. Although such a learning process can be difficult, acceptance to these challenges will have to be made deep within the child’s heart and mind as they become stronger.4 Moving back home will provide an excellent opportunity for temporary financial support. A young adult can never be fully prepared when they lose their job; consequently, it can be a difficult and challenging time. Parents, by allowing the child to come home, will be able to help their offspring with food and shelter while they look for employment. After a divorce, moving back home to be with a loving family can help fill the void of loneliness.
