Question Answered step-by-step To start with, during this course I read two books in English for… To start with, during this course I read two books in English for the first time.  I never read a whole book in foreign language in my life, so it was very interesting journey for me. I read these two stories about immigration and exclusion with a big excitement, because me being an immigrant too was helpful to know what other people went through in their lives.  While being in reading process I improved my vocabulary skills at the first place. I notice that I could use more synonyms and transitions words without looking them in Google. I divided the second book for two halves: First half I read and other half I listened, which has helped me to be more confident In my listening skills.  I have read all these books out loud, because it helps me to enhance my pronunciation.   In ESL-087 I learned writing narrative essays. To be more specific,  a typical essay has three parts, including an introduction, a body paragraph, and a conclusion. That was the only things I ever knew about Essay structure. During this course I have learned about topic sentences and subtopics, thesis statements and background information. The thesis statement declares the main idea of the essay. There should be three main bodies in an essay. They should contain the following information: there must be a topic sentence that is same to the thesis statement, as well as an explanation and evidence (statistics or facts proving the statement is credible). Conclusion is the summary of thesis statements and main points, which should also contain a significance. Sometimes I tried to mention some problem-solution in the conclusion of my essay depending on my Essay topic, of course. It seems to me more logically improved of what I have written before.
