They are helpful to each other, but rarely offer to help others. They have worked together for a long time and appear quite close to each other but have angered many of the other nursing staff. You have noticed that the staff lounge is a difficult place to be when they are there together. Generally, their patients are well-cared for. You are not part of this group. When coming on shift, you are assigned to a sick patient with one of the four nurses beside you. You ask the charge nurse to change the assignment because you are worried you will not getthe help you need. The charge nurse says she is not able to do that because there are a lot of sick patients and quite a few junior staff. She suggests that you communicate clearly with the nurse beside you and ask her for the help you need. The charge nurse tells you that you can also come to her for help. 1.
