Question Some have described the violence occurring in our country as a “publichealth crisis” and a “gun violence epidemic”. Despite the growing body count – and the shock and outrage it has brought to so many- our nation has failed to respond with any meaningful action. What do you think prevents those that favor stronger gun laws and those who are Second Amendment purists from finding a common ground on a solution to this problem?Research shows that a person with a prior criminal record, history of domestic violence or a history of alcohol abuse is much more likely to be more violent than a person who suffers from mental illness. Why do you think the conversation on gun violence always shifts focus on the mentally ill?Do you think that protests and demonstrations by students and the public will realistically change the legislative actions by our government in regards to stronger gun laws? Why is the issue of gun control and gun rights- so emotional for so many?   Health Science Science Nursing NURSING 103 Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
