Question Select an artifact. Your instructor will let you know if you should… Select an artifact. Your instructor will let you know if you should submit your choice for approval and may provide a list of artifacts for you to choose from, as well.Review your notes and assignments from any past course modules or future modules for possible concepts. In your recorded presentation, explain how specific sociological concepts covered in the course are illustrated in your artifact. You do not have to choose to illustrate concepts from a specific module; any of the module content from Modules 1- 6 may be covered.Use a PowerPoint to illustrate your presentation. If needed, include a short synopsis of the movie, book, or TV show to provide foundation for the analysis. If you are able to, show short clips (if applicable) of the artifact, but this is not required.Do not try to analyze too many concepts in your artifact; 4-5 concepts are sufficient for the time allowed.Note: Here are some expectations and guidelines for the technical aspects of your presentation. A portion of the points possible is based on these elements:Avoid using a lot of text. The best presentations often don’t have any text at all. Ensure that spelling and grammar are correct.Employ high-quality images that you have the right to use (avoid copyright infringement). Cite your work. Avoid unprofessional clipart and stickman images.Use white space well. That is, avoid crowding elements or leaving large empty spaces.Align elements on the slide to create a presentation of balance and one that avoids distracting misalignment of text, images, shapes, etc.Avoid many animations and transitions. These often detract from the message and indicate amateurism in presentations.Use a professional color scheme, such as one in the template choice offered within PowerPoint. White or a light color is usually best for the background.Use one or two fonts. Maintain consistent font type, sizes, colors, etc.Prepare what you are going to say, so that you can explain well. You should not sound like you are reading from a script. If you read from a script, it will sound like it. Social Science Sociology SOCL 110 Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
