Burnout syndrome can lead to decreased quality of care, decreased patient satisfaction, and increased volatility (Zarei et al., 2019). The morbidity and mortality of the treated patients are high; therefore, due to the complexity of daily life and the high expectations and responsibilities of multi-level nurses, working in the intensive care unit may be stressful (Zarei et al., 2019). There is a serious shortage of nurses in our department, and the number of patients continues. Because of these problems, we have a large number of patients. Therefore, my colleagues and I are under tremendous pressure because we cannot provide high-quality and efficient care. After all, we don’t have time. When caring for these critically ill patients, there is no time to establish a nurse-patient relationship. The most suitable theory for caring for patients under these stressful conditions is Watson’s theory. So I think this theory is beneficial to the treatment of patients in the intensive care unit (Persky, Nelson, Watson & Bent, 2008).
