Some of the public policies addressing the unique needs of migrant workers are Healthy people 2020, Millennium Development Goals, and the Northern American Free Trade Agreement.       Firstly, the Healthy People 2020 policy was created by the United States Department of Health and Human Services to help with environmental health, family planning, global health, HIV, maternal, infant, and child death (Hunter, A. 2016). These policies were also extended to migrant workers. It helps migrant workers with family planning, environmental planning and reduces child death among migrant workers population.      Secondly, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were created by world leaders in 2000. The goal of MDGs was to help in reducing poor health conditions around the world and improve living conditions by the year 2015. (Hunter, A . 2016). Since most migrant workers lack resources, this policy will help create better health and living conditions for migrant workers.       Lastly, the North American Free Trade Agreement between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Which allows increased movement of products and people between these three countries. (Hunter, A .2016). This agreement helps these countries to improve the healthcare for people living and working in the border area, of which some of them are migrant workers.
