In his nightmares, he often sees the face of the child on the platform morph into the face of his cousin Niki who had died a few years earlier from childhood leukemia. These dreams distress him. When he can’t sleep, Vontae walks out on the balcony of his new apartment, puts his headphones on and loudly recites the lyrics of songs while pacing from one end of the balcony to the other.
