Question Individual and professional nursing obligations are expressed in theprinciples of the College of Nurses (CNO, 2019), Code of conduct for nurses. It is important for nurses to understand these principles to uphold safe nursing care for the people of Ontario. In this library module, the student will explore one of these principles in more depth.   Principle 4: Nurses work respectfully with colleagues to best meet patients’ needs 4.1 Nurses are professional with colleagues and treat them with respect, including on social media. 4.2 Nurses collaborate and communicate with colleagues in a clear, effective, professional and timely way. 4.3 Nurses work together with other health care experts to improve their patients’ care. 4.4 Nurses support, mentor and teach members of the health care team, including students. 4.5 Nurses take action to stop unsafe, incompetent, unethical or unlawful practices, including any type of abuse. RADAR= Rationale, Authority, Date, Accuracy, RelevanceRADAR is a framework that provides questions/concepts to reflect on when selecting information for your research projects. As you review your research, consider RADAR and reflect on the questions asked within each aspect of the framework -Rationale: what’s the purpose was to educate, entertain or selling a product or point of view. Is there advertising/sponsor? Who is funding the research  for scholarly materials you need to look at who is funding the research or report and look at the author’s language and rhetorical choices  -Authority: Who wrote the source what are the author’s credentials and is the author educated in the area that they are talking about look at what discipline or subject the author is knowledgeable in and this should be related to the work they are presenting  -Date: when was ur published or updated is there information obsolete and is newer information available  -Accuracy: was it reviewed by editors or experts before it was published and was it fact-checked and was it peer-reviewed meanings That other experts in the field have reviewed the article for accuracy -Relevance: Does the information answer your research question and does the information meet the requirements for the assignment a) Discuss the importance of the assigned principal upholding safe nursing care and use the selected article to support your discussion b) Use the RADAR tool to discuss why you chose the article and how does it match those headings why was it an appropriate paper for you to use Article: pick an article based on principle 4     Health Science Science Nursing Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
