The next best option would be to record a video and send it to team members communicating the mission. This is almost as effective as a team meeting and can reduce irritation with some of the complications of setting up team meetings (with meetings you have to find a time that works for everyone which usually constitutes coming in early for a meeting or staying late and this can get a lot of pushback from employees.
