Be specific with time, i.e.08:15, or 09:45, and note which task you would do first if they are due at the same time. You can delegate to a PCT, and ask the charge nurse for help.A Semester 2 student is giving the PO meds to patient #1 and can do general care, incl. VS but no IVsA  Foundation (Semester 1) student is assigned to patient #3, but you are responsible for all meds and treatments. Prioritize! Plan ahead! Delegate! Communicate! He is alert and oriented, and has moderate pain for which he is getting Morphine IVP q2hr prn. A Sem. 2 student is responsible for the PO meds, A.M. care, I/O, and ambulating. Orders: VS Q4 hours, Blood Glucose AC and HS, ambulate TID with assistance, 1800 ADA diet, BID dressing change.08:15  patient requests pain medication (MS IVP)09:00  PO meds, one IVP, and one IVPB (250cc), which will take two hours to infuse10:00  one IVPB (50cc), which will take 30 min.outdated saline lock (still working but should be changed after 96 hours due to patient’s diagnosis and history)Patient #2:  A 55-year old female, scheduled for gallbladder surgery. Patient is NPO except pre-op meds. OR is picking up patient at 08:30. You need VS, give pre-op meds, have patient void, re-check chart and include MAR’s into chartPatient #3:  An 80-year old female with a h/o Dementia, admitted for Abdominal Pain.Her room is at the end of the hall and needs to be moved closer to the Nurses Station.She is agitated and is not safe alone. A Sem. 1/Foundation student can do VS & PA.She has a NG-tube, is incontinent.Orders: VS Q 4 hours, NPO, place Foley catheter, Ativan IVP prn, Abdominal Ultrasound scheduled for 10:3009:00  Meds via NGTPatient #4:  A 70-year old male, admitted with GI bleed who had been in ICU, and ah/o COPD & Lymphoma.  He is fatigued and weak, alert and oriented. He is on a clear liquid diet and continuous IVF D5NS @ 100mL/hour via a Central Line.Orders: VS Q 4 hours, D/C Foley catheter, and transfuse 2 units PRBC, pre-medicate with Tylenol.08:00  IVF has 50mL left in bag, and tubing needs to be changed09:00  PO meds and inhaler, blood requisite has been sent to the Blood Bank (blood will be sent within 30 min.)PICC line dressing change due today References:Said, N.
