How many trillions of dollars is the US national debt?  The national debt is the amount of dollars borrowed by the US.  Do you think the amount of debt the US has is a problem or not and explain why.  How do you think the US borrowing money will affect companies from borrowing money to fund your future engineering projects? 
Discussion 2:
The National Debt has risen every year since the late 1950’s.  It’s engrained in Washington DC to spend more then is being brought in.  
Go to https://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/  and download the latest white house budget.   Click on FY2022 The President’s Budget to download the budget.
Go to page 37.  Take the last digit in your student ID number and add that to 2021.  Record the deficit in this discussion for that year.  Look at the deficits in the plan for the next 10 years.
That’s the plan the White House has proposed.  The plan is to overspend $1.3 to $1.8 trillion dollars a year for the next 10 years and beyond.  Why does or doesn’t this make sense to do?
