We will have to attach these mounting plates to all of our vehicles that visit the mine site.  The detector itself is only attached to the mounting plate (via four screw holes – as shown in the diagram below) when the vehicle is going into the mine area. The detector is unscrewed and removed when the vehicle leaves the mine area.  The mounting plates to which the detector is attached will need to remain on the vehicles (semi-permanent fixture); however, the Chief Engineer has said he wants the plates attached in such a way that they can be removed if needed without damaging the vehicle door panels or paintwork. I need you to come up with a method to achieve this. As part of your report I will also need you to write an instruction on how the your mounting plate solution is to be carried out (so that tradespeople can follow it).
