Women and children seem to be the most affected and issues of forced labor still exist to a high extent even in the US. Labour is especially a serious issue in the US and labor trafficking is one of the main vices. It is also shocking to note that very huge illicit profits are acquired by the perpetrators showing nothing is being done.Labor trafficking has been brought out well in the report, especially in the US. The Labour Department does complaint screening and investigators investigate employers. The most affected employees are foreigners who are even overworked and do not get overtime. The case of the Mexican employee who had his passport confiscated by his employer in Austin and he was never given social security and only paid $20 brought in the question of how he even got to the US in the first place showing the reality of things on the ground. This work represents some difference in the aspect of human trafficking where it is often seen as affecting only those who are very vulnerable, but the case of the Mexican shows that he left a business that gave him more money. It shows the way employers take advantage by confiscating immigrants’ passports. In comparison, the work shows the interests that each group has in combatting labor trafficking. The APD offered surveillance, and the Department of Labour gave counseling to those affected so they would come out to the inspectors showing how different parties have different interests (Nsonwu, 2015). This division of tasks shows the effort taken by the government in combatting labor trafficking but from what I have read, the issue still exists. It is effective in bringing out the story as from the current interviewed employees, the employees confirmed how fraud comes into play to promote human trafficking and there is a rise in labor trafficking, especially through San Antonio. The current sociopolitical climate has seen a rise in human rights and the framework provides avenues for monitoring progress. This has forced countries to put in measures to combat labor trafficking as we have seen in the US where different departments have come together.  Law Social Science Criminal Justice CCJ 4694 Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
