Question Answered step-by-step In each response, take on two roles. First, assume the role of a… In each response, take on two roles. First, assume the role of a critic on the philanthropic agency’s review board who opposes your peer’s proposal. Be brief but creative in your refusal to fund the violence project. Remember to cite your sources as applicable.Next, take on the role of a review board member who supports the program and help your colleague address the critic’s objections by providing additional evidence in support of the proposal, or add suggestions to provide a stronger proposal to the board.Proposal to Review:According to the American Hospital Association, “every year, there are more than 55,000 deaths and 2.5 million violence-related injuries in the United States.” (AHA, 2015) Preventing hospital admissions due to community violence can be challenging, because it involves a “cycle of learned behaviors that are further perpetuated by an individual’s exposure to trauma.” Regardless of those challenges, many studies have shown that hospital-based violence interventions decrease health care cost and save lives.A program to support hospital admission reduction in a community, may include three level of prevention, the primary is to prevent the violence, second would be to address the behavioral health issues that lead to violence, and the third level of prevention would be to manage the care for a person or community that have experience the violence. The ideal intervention would be to prevent the violence from occurring, and come up with an intervention program that focuses on the primary prevention of violence. Establishing hospital-based violence intervention programs that prevent intimate partner violence, gang violence, sexual assaults, and child abuse may result “in a fourfold reduction in injury recidivism, avoiding trauma care costs of $41,000 per injury, which is an acceptable cost per health outcome gained” (Juillard, 2015). Reference:American Hospital Association.
