Take your medicine as directed. Contact your doctor if you think your medicine is not helping or if you have side effects  Environment: Environmental factors, such as tobacco smoke, are potent additional risk factors of having pancreatitis so it is utmost importance to stay away from this kind of environment. Treatment The goals of treatment of Pancreatitis are to alleviate pancreatic inflammation and to correct the underlying cause. Treatment usually requires hospitalization for at least a few days . IV fluids are given to help prevent dehydration. Many patients with moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis may not be able to eat in the early course of their illness. Instead, you may be fed through NGT tube.  Health education :Teach the patient and her family about the means necessary to maintain the present level of health or achieve a higher level of health. Advice the patient to rest when you feel it is needed. Slowly start to do more each day. Return to your usual activities as directed. Do not drink any alcohol. If you need help to stop drinking ask your doctor or dietitian about the best foods to eat. You may need to eat foods that are low in fat if you have chronic pancreatitis. Do not smoke. Nicotine and other chemicals in cigarettes and cigars can cause damage  Outpatient Explain: when and where the patient must keep clinical appointment for continued treatment and Advice the patient family to contact with doctor if any worsen sudden symptom occur (dizziness, palpitation, chest pain). Explain how to follow written discharge instruction . Teach patient to take medication exactly as directed. Don't skip doses. Encourage the patient to follow the diet and avoid alcohol consumption or smoking.  Diet: Advice the patient to follow the low fat diet which is helps in treating or preventing pancreatitis. Teach the patient that the best food of pancreatitis are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nonfat/low fat dairy, and lean cuts of meat. Healthy fats such as avocado, olive oil, fatty fish, nuts, and seeds, may be consumed with careful portion control.
