Question Answered step-by-step I need help responding to the following paper. article review on… I need help responding to the following paper. article review on ADHDI researched an article on the ratio of males and females that have ADHD. The participants of the study I reviewed were 499 parents of students enrolled in a special program for learning disabilities and emotional problems. The sample was obtained by conducting a phone interview with the parents. Of the children screened, 206 exhibited enough symptoms to be considered for ADHD medication. The second phase was a questionnaire regarding the diagnosis and the available treatment and services., 127 had thirteen target symptoms of the disorder and were interested in treatment and services. Initial results revealed that the 127 participants have a ratio of 21 females to 106 males.   The studies showed that 43% of the participants came from a minority background, 63 % lived-in low-income homes, and 51% belonged to a single-parent home. (Bussing et al., 1998)      Females are traditionally thought to be at a lower risk of ADHD than males; however, recent studies have indicated that girls also may be at increased risk of remaining undetected and untreated. (Bussing et al., 1998) Additional research is needed to determine the reasons why girls remain undetected. The selection process for participants in the study should be classified based on ethnicity, social-economic status, and family dynamics to determine if the conditions affect the chances of both males and females of developing ADHD. Reference:Bussing, R.,Schoenberg, N.
