I am stuck on my assignment which is A literature review section of a research paper helps to give context for the relevance and particular conceptual focus of your study. It is important to make sure that your literature review is not just a technical reporting of what other researchers have done before. I am open to changes, if needed.  My instructor provided this info on my topic proposal submitted. (I attached the proposal. I thought i understood, but i am still not getting it correct. This is my first ever literature review.  Topic 1, you were asked to choose a communication issue to research this semester. Your topic is approved: The Influence of Social Media Use on Interpersonal Communication.You mentioned variables: frequency of use, types of social media platforms used, and how social media use affects face-to-face communication (influence). I would omit discussion of certain “types” of social media (i.e. Snapchat vs Facebook) but you can compare different CMC (ex: social media vs email vs text) especially in a workplace setting. (note email is not the same as social media but both are CMC). So you could use “frequency of use” – “reason for use” – “influence on communication” (then define the contexts). You also mentioned “self-disclosure” – “communication satisfaction” – “satisfaction in relationships” as possible variables.
