Linda Richards was among these people who made nursing as an important carrier. As stated by (the AAHN, 2021), Linda Richards was recognized as the first trained nurse in the United States. She was born July 27, 1841, in Potsdam, New York. She was named after a missionary by her parents. She lost both of her parents at the age of 13, After her parents died of tuberculosis, and she finally lived with her grandfather where the family doctor encouraged her to follow carrier path in nursing, and she wrote a book and achieved an award. Linda Richards had worked in the factory, caring for people, and worked as a nursing assistant when she was in Boston. When the New England Hospital opened in Boston, she was admitted into the school of nursing, and she was one of the first-class students admitted and graduated September 1873. (2018 America Association for the History of Nursing).Linda Richards became the superintendent at the Boston Training School, and Bellevue Training School of Nursing in New York. Because of the problems she went through with some doctors, made her to be strong in leadership and opened training program for regular classroom instruction. She opened many schools of nursing in Europe and here in America and she also partner with Florence Nightingale. Linda Richards was the first president of the American Society of superintendent in 1894. In fact, she was the first professional nurse to purchased stock in America Journal Company in 1900. She was also a member of the committee of the Hospital Economic Program. She retired in 1911 and died April 16, 1930. (The AAHN, 2021).The personality type that I possess is ENFP.
