I have no personal experience in investing money of my own….
Question Answered step-by-step I have no personal experience in investing money of my own…. I have no personal experience in investing money of my own. However, in the past, I have been gifted savings bonds and certificates of deposit (CDs) for various birthdays/holidays. Although I have since cashed in the CD, I still have ownership of all of the savings bonds. I am not completely sure how I would choose specific investments if I were to begin investing. I would likely invest in safer, long-term investments as opposed to short-term investments with high-risk/high-reward potential. This means I would look most into mutual funds as an investment. I personally view saving and investing in two very different ways. I think that investing is attempting to increase or grow someone’s wealth. This inherently involves some level of risk, though that risk can be minimized by investing in diverse assets and government-backed items like government bonds. In contrast, I view saving as putting money aside with no risk for later in life or when building up to a certain target amount. I believe that everyone should practice saving at every stage throughout their life. In contrast, investment should only be done when one is in a better financial situation and can afford the potential losses associated with it.
