There are new technologies coming out every day but what looks perfect on paper may not be when actually put into use. The new smart pumps that are being used for some diabetic patients in intensive care units can read the glucose reading and then the information gets sent to the pharmacy and the pump automatically changes the drip rate to what is needed for that glucose level. Being from the old school and like having control of some things I still would double-check everything continuously due to fear of equipment error. Do you approve of this type of technology?
