Nurse… how will you respond back to this in a discusion post ? Nurse staffing is the change I am most eager to see be enacted by the ANA. Advocating for safe nurse staffing is important for the safety of the patients. This interests me because it has been all over the news about how there is a shortage of nurses working in the hospitals. I have even witnessed staff shortages at one of the sites I will work at with my current job. Patients do not get the quality of care they need because there are not enough nurses to take care of them. Care gets missed when there is too much going on and there is too much responsibility and the work of multiple nurses placed on one. If safe nurse-patient ratios are passed it would help me and the patients because the patients will be getting more personalized care. It will help me as a nurse because I will not feel so overwhelmed and it will decrease the possibility of making a mistake or missing a vital change in patient condition.
