Question his is a study conducted on the impact of prediabetes and type 2 diabeticpatients admitted to a hospital with Covid-19, conducted between March 9, 2020 and June 27, 2020, and approved by the Institution Review Board (IRB) of Bronx Care Hospital Center, and published  June 17, 2021, in the International Journal of Endocrinology. The study aims to discover the extent of morbidity, mortality, and ventilator needs on these category of patients in comparison to the control group, that is, those with no previous history or clinical evidence of either disease. At the end of the study, there is no difference in outcome between the control group and the prediabetes group. In contrast, the severity of Covid-19 and the need for ventilator increased two to four folds in patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
