I need help to make sure the  format is correct and also can you help me with a title to my essay.     The narrative of the stories told by the novels, especially fiction novels, has been enticing to my senses. Being able to read and imagine a scenario that was being described through the text was something that gives me thrill, as this was an experience which I believed was somewhat out of the body experience, where it felt like my soul was free from my body, and was able to venture to search for a world far away from reality, that existed only in books. The imagination part of the fiction is what was enticing to me; to simply imagine, and to not be restricted by application of common sense or logic when reading a book. Anything and everything are possible within those pages, and those pages and novels are the reason that I feel alive at times, far detached from the real world (Shields, 2009).   There was a paragraph written by the author related to fiction being inventions, and while non-fiction being imagination. For the readers of the fiction, reading a fiction is the task of imagining, while it is deeper process of imagining and also believing when it comes to reading by non-fiction readers. The author emphasizes that there is no need to believe in fictions. I can agree with this statement, there is no need to believe, but most of the fiction readers still wish or hope somewhere deep within their hearts of heart that these fictions are part of the “reality”, and not simply confined within the pages of the books (Shields, 2009). We readers look for solutions in the books and look for joy and emotions within the real world. The two aspects, the two worlds always converge for the readers like me. When I was younger, I would always look for the imaginary or the things of books while looking at this reality. But I could never find it out in the real word.   I can completely agree with the author when he states that “To be alive is to travel ceaselessly between the real and the imaginary, and mongrel form is about as exact an emblem as I can conceive for the unsolvable mystery at the center of identity”. I come to life when I am reading, with the power to imagine and to travel to that imaginary world, I sometimes feel an invincible power that comes from being able to transport at whim into world, simply by reading words (Shields, 2009). The novels are combination of the two components, both imagination and reality, which is the reason behind it feeling more real than the reality itself. It feels right to look for answers of reality and real-life situations within the novels, while it is also equally likely that I would be looking for the elements of the imaginary to be real and want to witness it out in this “real world”. The intriguing combination of the two element is something which never lets my interest wane from reading, however much I feel like that fiction is not how it was previously. I wish the time could be turn the time around and bring back the time where I used to explore so much, where I had all the time in the world explore new books and novels, and would not have to worry about a single thing of the real world. The line “go go go said the bird: humankind cannot bear very much reality” is so appropriate to describe what majority of the readers look for (Shields, 2009). We cannot bear to handle too much of the reality and the real world and look for distraction within the world made of words. It is the escape that most of us are looking for out in the world. This is also the reprieve that we all have found within words. Escapism is not something which would be supported by people. But it a truth that humans cannot handle too much reality and would need some kind of escape, which comes from different forms.  There was a question that raised by the author within the text of the book “Reality Hunger”, where the author stated why there is a need for conducting experiments when the result is known. The question raised was about essays, but I cannot stop myself from analyzing this statement in context of books and novels. The books will all have certain ending, that is a certainty, but the fact that makes these books and stories experiments is the fact that how the “unmapped quest” sprung, where the book authors do not have to worry about following certain rules and regulations, but to focus on creating something new, something they believe is a quest on which no one has ventured, or to simply trying to venture out, making it possible for us to get content from our favorite authors that can excite us and fill us with joy (Pignagnoli, 2012). But the question raised here is also important to heed; there has been a large number of literature content which is being created that seems to bear resemblance to each other. The thoughts cannot be appropriated to a single person, since every person has their own experience, and they quote according, and it is very difficult to invent to thoughts (Shields, 2009). But this is not a justification to create a repetitive work within the literature. Sure, there is difference when two works are compared, but sometimes the essence of the novels and fiction can fill the readers like me with the feeling of having read something similar before. This is one aspect which I would like to address, as this is something which somehow deteriorate the experience of the readers.  “The script gets flipped” is a statement that was in Reality Hunger, and indicated towards how the old is flipped, modified, in order to create new in the modern times. This has been an action which is popular within the movie and music industry, where old scripts are renewed with the help of new elements introduced, and new music and songs are created using the “original” creation, which is also renewed using some new elements. This renovation process might be the reason invention and reinvention are possible in many forms of arts but including this aspect within the fiction, where it can feel repetitive and not provide the readers with the feeling of originality and experience of magic of exploring something new, is something which does not works within the fictions. It is not to say that the work is copied or borrowed in fiction, but having certain new ideas, to explore one’s own experiences is what is needed to invent within fiction. The experience in the contemporary culture should not be second-hand, it should be direct and authentic. Sharing own’s experience is something which can make the fictions more authentic, but it can be hindered by self-consciousness (Shields, 2009). Using just books for understanding the art all around is not sufficient. It is one of the aspects which is all around us, and is ever present. The issue of imitation is present in may forms of arts, and this may not feel like and issue to people, but it can make the experience of the art to be very monotonous. The excitement which comes from exploring something new, something which is unknown, is what makes these arts have a very prominent role within the society and modern culture (Schmitt, 2016). The influencer culture has further broadened the gap, where more and more people are engaging in inspired art. The most common example of such imitation from influencers is the presence of Tok-tok and Instagram Reels. These are some of the examples where it feels like that the doom is near. Everyone is jumping on the trends which are popular. There is rarely a work which can be considered to be original, but it is also drowned under the weight of people joining the trends on these platforms. The level of imitation here raised my concern for people, who imitate people by being influenced. But it also feels like this is all part of life, where people are engaging with each other, imitating the art, and hopping on the trend train (Scherr, 2019).   Technology has made imitation easier. It is easier to find any piece of art and copy it with the help of technology. The change in technology is not simply just imitation of works, but it is also a start of loss of authenticity from the art forms. As a person who appreciates work of art, be it music, movie, series, books and others, there has been a shift that has been observed by me during the past few years. There has been a feeling of loss, when exploring the art. The books somedays do not feel to be fulfilling, the series and movies feel to be something which has been seen several times in various forms, and no changes are done. I can wholeheartedly agree with the author that there is something lost with the rise of “perfect technology”, which has created a world of “perfect everything”. The authenticity, and not the perfectness of the art was what made it stand out, and not the perfectness is what is being search by people (Shields, 2009).   The technology has also altered the way people consume the books. Introduction of the eBooks was revolutionary in a way, which altered the overall outlook of people to reading, and how they could consume the content. I have myself made the shift from physical books to virtual or electronic version of the books, as this enabled me to read it anywhere and anytime. The shift has proven to be beneficial for some readers, as they have adapted to the change of brought by the technology, while some proportion of the population is still not able to embrace this change (Wonders, et al, 2012). There are many advantages of using this mode of technology for reading, but disadvantages such as strain on eyes due to the lights of devices, not being able to sit and savor the essence of the book, not being able to imagine the story being told through the pages of a book when turning through the pages of the book. These elements will always be missing in the eBooks. Hopping on the trends, following the influencers and doing things in the manner that the influencers suggest and do is not something which is something that I believe is part of reality. In reality, people are sensible and know what is real and can identify the difference between part of being trends and what is their own lives (Wonders, et al, 2012). Not knowing the difference, following of trends, imitation as a major component in the world has made it very different, and I think I would rather stay within the reality of my books, which is not same, but still provides me with the comfort from the changing world which is full of imitation and people following trends just to be more relatable.   I hope the tradition of reading continues in future. People are less inclined to read nowadays with their busy lives and their hectic schedules. This is not a reality which makes people feel live. The world is staying in the real too much, and not acknowledging the imaginary, which can provide them with originality and joy of exploring these two worlds. I want to share this joy with others. Being able to share the joy of reading, the comfort of reading an old book, reliving the moments, and exploring and living thousands of lives with the help of fiction characters is something which I would like my reality to consist of.
