Question Answered step-by-step Hi, I need help with my grammar and word choices; thank you very… Hi, I need help with my grammar and word choices; thank you very much. Personal experienceI have been suffering from sleep deprivation since 2014, right after I had just recovered from a severe anorexia eating disorder, and at the same time, I started my first semester of nursing school. I still do not know what triggered the sleeping problem, and I also did not realize since which night I could not fall asleep anymore. Over the past couple of years, sleep deprivation messed up my whole life at one point. Every night right before bedtime, I started to become very uneasy. Even just thinking about sleeping will make me anxious. When I lie in bed and try to persuade myself to sleep, I can never escape from racing, jumping minds.I could not fall asleep or stay asleep for a very long period, making me extremely miserable mentally and physically. I got tired very easily, could not concentrate on my school work, and often cried for no reason. Since I could not get enough rest, I could not work effectively during my clinical rotation at the hospital, and I made a couple of near-miss errors because I could not put my mind together. Sleep Disorders ProgramCDC is trying to improve the quality of sleep among the population, and there is a Sleep and Sleep Disorders program that has been established. The program’s primary goal is to ensure everyone gets sufficient sleep and “conduct public health research to assess the relationships between insufficient sleep and chronic disease, behavioral, and social outcomes (2017).” This program also provides education about different types of sleep disorders and tips for high-quality sleep or a healthy amount of time for sleeping. Moreover, the program offers resources for those people with sleeping disorders (CDC, 2017). Meditation  When talking about lifestyle changes that can help with sleeping, the first thing that comes to mind is meditation. Opposite to stress response, meditation can produce people’s relaxed response. A couple of my friends also recommend meditation as a relaxation technique for me. As we know, cortisol is a stress hormone. If people can not get enough sleep, the body tends to produce more cortisol; for a more extended period, sleep deprivation causes the body to have a higher cortisol level and not taper down appropriately (Katherine, 2012). When people are doing meditation, their heart rate and breathing will slow down, which can further cause a lower level of cortisol to be produced (Danielle&Alex, 2022). Different views about sleep deprivation A disadvantaged neighborhood environment can contribute to sleep deprivation; however, on the opposite side, sleep deprivation also affects the community environment in different ways. Sleep deprivation can lead to less effective and productive working, and the impact on health conditions like harm to cardiac systems and mental health will cause higher health care utilization (Dayna et al., 2018). Sleep Deprivation affects the immune systemSleep deprivation affects many parts of the body’s systems, and I would like to talk about the impact on the immune system. Good quality and sufficient sleeping help maintain a balanced immune system that can work perfectly to respond to viruses and bacteria with less severe reactions. Prolonged sleep deprivation will cause the immune system not able to recognize and react to dangerous antigens (Eric, 2022). Therefore, people who suffer from sleep deprivation are more likely to develop severe allergies and inflammations. ank you very much.
