According to Canadian Public Health Association, “social determinants of health are the economic and social factors that affect people’s well-being”. The fourteen determinants of health are income and income distribution, education, unemployment and job security, employment and working conditions, early childhood development, food security, housing, social exclusion, social safety network, health services, aboriginal status, gender, race, and disability. The Positive impact of social determinants of health includes access to quality health care, economic stability, access to quality education, improving living conditions, and a better community environment. On the other hand, negative social determinants of health include poverty, poor access to education, unhealthy housing, and exposure to the general advantage. A person may experience stress and anxiety because of these factors which can lead to other health issues like heart diseases, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. ReferencesBernazzani, S. (2016).
