It was weekend night seating having a congregate dinner with my beloved family including my three siblings and mother and father; while having dinner my father was speaking over the phone with his brother who’s located in Democratic Republic of Congo, speaking back and forth, while the phone was on loud speaker. My father and my uncle seems to have good time talking over the phone. On other hands myself and my siblings have no clue on what they were talking about. Suddenly, my older brother comment on the conversation, whatever he said wasn’t right because my dad asked couldn’t understand, which led my dad to advise us to our french language; from his advice which he advise us which influenced me to decide to learn french because it is the language of my both side of my family. I thought this going to be good introduction on my french journey. I always thought French was going to be easy for me to learn because I grew up hearing french voices in my ear and it is a language spoken in households. I studied the language when I was young; however, I found it different when I commenced my journey of French language when I started college at LeMoyne College. My journey begin on the first level of French anybody who’s French can start off at LeMoyne College which is French 101. On the first day with the Professor going over the syllabus the classes seemed to be interesting, which it was throughout the semester. I never wanted to miss any day that I have this class. I don’t think I had missed any class exept when I was tested positive for COVID-19 then I had to quarantine for a couple days, which I hated because I didn’t want to miss any day. Throughout all the activities in this class my favorite part was when we went around the class talking or working with other students, which easily helped me make friends. Among all four chapter I learned in French 101 my favorite chapter was chapter three because chapter one and two most of the vocabulary was familiar to me means I knew them before even started the class; however, even was easy for me I never stop coming in class or be bored in class because the professor was excellent and capable to make the class interesting everytime in class. When we get to chapter three that is when things started to get serious because everything was new. I didn’t know the types of weather, seasons or geography thanks to an excellent professor I excelled in. The professor’s teaching style was the reason I excelled in his class. We learned in his class throughout exercises, how work and music. Specifically, we learned conjugating verbs throughout music. Being in his class motivated me to think about add French as my minor. Moving forward, more advance on french 102, we advancely learn more vocabulary and grammar. ” le article partitif” I assume that this particular lesson was challenge for many others. Besides “IR verbs au passe compose” and ” le article partitif” throughout the semester of French 102 everything wasn’t hard to understand. In conclusion, both French 101 and 102 allowed me to create some sentences to communicate with my friends whom I know speak french and my parents. And also it allowed me to vision my future, which I comfortably see myself go back to my country and be able to communicate with people.
