Some of my favorite memories are when I sit down with him and tell many different stories. The memories that I have with him are abundant, and I was always looking forward to seeing him just so we can create some more. All along, I knew that we would have to leave in America eventually, but my family and I took the summer before we left for granted. The night before we moved from Africa to America, I remember that I could not take my mind off of me leaving. Laying in my bed with tears rolling down my face, I decided that I was going to sleep with him that night. I woke up the next morning on my tear-stained pillow and the realization set in that today was the day that we had to leave. I couldn’t resist and stay because I knew that we were going to the country that we could have no limit to our life, such as safety, enough food, and education. And believe that us to leave is the best decision because we could help them financially.Sadly, after two years of settling in America, all of a sudden, my cousin, Omar, experienced a serious illness, which led to his death. Since his death, he was always in my mind, which also reminded me of all the moments we had together, which also led me to believe that people should cherish the moments they have with the ones they love.
