Class Presentation Guideline
Class Presentation Guideline
As part of the course, you will have to complete a class
presentation followed by a short write-up of the topic that you
present.
For this purpose, You will need to form a 2 or 3-person group.
Individual projects are acceptable with consent from the
instructor.
Each group must present the topic they choose during the last
week of our class (Week 16)
The presentation is expected to be 10-15 minutes long. Be
prepared to answer any questions from the audience
during/after the presentation.
Each group should share their slides on ilearn before the
presentation. A dropbox folder will be created on ilearn.

theory? What does the theory say?
Class Presentation Guideline
Choose an international trade topic that you are truly
interested. Is there a topic that motivates you, inspires
you, you are curious about? Life is too short to write/learn
about something you don’t care about.
Think about a question you really want to answer and
present. It generally is something like “what is the
influence of x on y? what is policy/event x, and how is
it designed/happened/becomes effective?
Focus on questions that can be connected with the trade
theory we talk about in class.
If your topic can be supported by data, that is great.
Otherwise, clearly present your argument about the issue.
Justify your argument using your intuition or logic.
Class Presentation Guideline
Think of the write-up as a written explanation of your
presentation. As such, it should include all parts of the
presentation arranged coherently.
You may also include anything that you feel necessary to
complement your presentation. Make sure everything that
you put on the short paper is related to the topic that you
choose.
You can also discuss any issue that you feel is controversial
but may not be appropriate to present in class.
There is no specific requirement of the format. Choose any
format that you like. Ideally, it should be 5-7 pages.
