Growing up my dad… Do you agree with this analysis why or why not ? Growing up my dad was always talking about how it is very common for Italians to have strong pride in what they have done in America and the culture they bring to the table. I believe this is an example of Pluralism, as this provides their own identity of their culture without intermingling the preserved history they had from the massive immigration to America in the 1920s. Italian Americans can provide that they have built somewhat of the industrial life of the United States Even though other cultures and ethnic groups also contributed to it, it seems like Italian Americans have a lot of pride in it, mainly in the areas like New Jersey, or New York.Strategies to resist the generalization of those two groups would be all of the above. I went to school in Washington State, as this was the focal point my dad retired from, and it was a requirement to learn about the Washington State Native Americans prior to graduating High School. I believe that we should continue to uphold this standard as Native Americans were one of the most unfairly treated members by basically getting kicked out of their own homes and forced to live somewhere new. I do believe if we were able to hear more of their tribal members speak on the behalf of their history it would be beneficial to the students to understand the history, culture and background Native Americas have!
