Convience sampling is cheap, efficeint and simple to implement. Most may argue that using this strategy is allwoing us to predict the results, but wouldn’t that be a good thing. If we are sampling Nurisng students and their GPA comparing them to their success rate on the NCLEX, this would be wonderful sample stratgey to used. Unfortunatly Convienve sampling can have biased results and does not represent the the popluation as a whole. If we are sampling Nursing student we would only select those nursing students who have high GPA, predicting that they may do better on the NCLEX, however this does not represent the entire population of Nursing students. There are some Nursing students who pass the classes, although the do not have the highest GPA they still pass the NCLEX. Convience samplings advatages are that sampling is easy, partiticpants are avalaible, and it is the cheapest of the sample methods. In my opinion convience sampling should be avoided because it gives false numbers due to not using the whole population, everyting that is easy and cheap is not always the best method. ReferencesHouser, J.
