Decide on the season for your assortment: Fall or Spring 2. Decide on the category of merchandise you want to plan for. It must be very specific. For example, if you choose dresses, then consider the various kinds of dresses, such as day dresses, evening, after-five, formal, or casual. You also must consider the customer category such as junior, misses, plus-size, contemporary, executive, etc. For this assortment, you should have at least 10 styles, 2 colors per style, 6 sizes per color. You may plan any size range that you prefer. You may select any merchandise category that has sizes. 3. You have been allocated $100,000 at retail to spend on this assortment with a plan MU% of 49.7%. (Note: This is your budget) You also must decide what retails you want to sell your merchandise at. Again, consider whether your product is budget, discount, moderate, or higher priced. 4. Use the same Excel format for this Assortment Plan that you used for the assignment on assortment planning. Use your book as a resource. See page 265 for example. Be sure to check your calculations. Notes: 1. This assignment must be submitted on Excel format. 2. It is not necessary to visit a store to complete this project. Shop online and look at merchandise.
