It is your responsibility to be responsive and to stimulate learning and development.  For example Activity 1 Activity 1: Making Playdough Making playdoughObservation:This afternoon a few of the children had woken up from their afternoon sleep, we then proceeded to make some playdough for the children to explore with this afternoon. Hunter was a big help with mixing the playdough and pouring salt into the bowl! Once the playdough was made, the fun began. Alice really loved tasting the playdough and would continuously put it into her mouth as well as squish it between her fingers. Danielle would hold some in her hands and squeeze them as well as feel them on her fingertips. Hunter wasn’t a fan of the texture; he did however give it a go before he decided he didn’t enjoy it but Hunter did enjoy helping me make it 🙂 A paragraph addressing the above dot points… Making playdough with the Nursery 2s was enjoyable for everyone involved. Alice, Hunter, and Danielle. The children learned what ingredients needed to be added to the playdough and assisted by mixed and adding what colors they wanted to add to make the playdough pretty colors. This referred to the children being given materials and resources that provoked a new interest as they could see the ingredients separate and then when they are combined, they were amazed and amused by the texture of the playdough. As provided in the observation above both intentional teaching and child lead learning was displayed during this experience by teaching in an active process and a way of relating to children that embrace and builds on their strengths, interests, ideas, and needs. It required me to be purposeful in their decisions and actions during the experience.
