Question Case Study:A.T., 21-year-old male, single, from Tarlac, was brought to Saint Lukes emergency room due to fever and calf pain. 2 weeks prior to admission, patient was exposed to a flashflood (Typhoon Vinta) in his residence. Patient was apparently well until 5 days prior to admission, he developed cough, body malaise, calf pain & tenderness, and undocumented fever which was partially relieved by intake of paracetamol. 2 days prior to admission, he noticed redness of his conjunctivae (without exudates) and his sclerae became icteric. His skin became jaundice and urine became tea-colored. Signs and symptoms persisted hence, sought consult. He has no known co-morbids. His vital signs were as follows: blood pressure: 84/48 mmHg, pulse rate: 107 bpm, respiratory rate 25 cpm, temperature: 38.3 °c. He weighs 68 kg and he’s 164 cm tall.
