Question Answered step-by-step Case Study 1 In a large private hospital, you are working a night… Case Study 1 In a large private hospital, you are working a night shift in the orthopaedic ward. Earlier in the day a well-known Rugby League player, Jack Cooper was admitted to your ward for ankle surgery.  Sharon is one of the enrolled nurses on the night shift with you. Sharon arrived 10 minutes late for handover because she had been at a family birthday party.  You can smell alcohol on her breath when she whispers how exciting it is to have a sports star on the ward. At 23:30 hrs, you are outside Jack Cooper’s room. He is asleep.  You notice Sharon in the room and are surprised to see her open Jack’s bag, take out a watch and put it into her pocket.  She then adjusts the rate of intra venous fluid that is being infused. She does this without a doctor’s valid order. This then leads to the IV fluids infiltrating into the surrounding tissues, causing pain and swelling in his arm.  Sharon takes out her mobile phone and takes a photo of Jack while he is asleep.  She then uploads it to her Facebook page with a comment: “Look who is here! I am lucky to be Jack’s nurse tonight. He doesn’t look as cool as he is portrayed in the social media”.  Sharon sees you at the doorway and notices your concern. She whispers: “It’s okay because my Facebook security settings are set to private. Only my family will see the photo”. You leave the room and are concerned by what you have seen.  Four (4) notifiable conducts that require mandatory reportingSharon’s actions that require mandatory reportingWhich legal body will it be reported to?How will it be reported?               References needed Health Science Science Nursing NURSING HLTENN041 Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
