Question Answered step-by-step Are the operational functions applicable to every major… Are the operational functions applicable to every major operation/campaign?  Why or why not—explain your answer.Just a few thoughts from me, not every operational function is applicable to every major operations/campaigns.”Joint Functions complement and reinforce each other. Integration across all functions is essential to mission accomplishment.” (JP 3-0, pg III-1). However, in the same page, JP 3-0 explains that while functions such as C2, information, and intelligence, apply to all operations, all other functions only apply as the mission dictates. In every environment, a commander must understand the situation – the first step to all planning processes across the DoD and at the joint-level is to analyze the mission, space, and troops/support available. Without the function of intelligence, a commander may never have a full scope of understanding of the situation. Using information will support decision making, which is critical to any operation. Finally, without command and control, units across a battle-space would be unable to function as a team and utilize support as required. Any rebuttal or feedback on my assessment?
