Question Answered step-by-step A 37-year-old woman presented to the ER with fever, dry cough, chestpain, and breathlessness. The patient told that the symptoms started 3 weeks ago but she was tested negative for covid-19. The patient denied any significant medical history except that of alcohol abuse in remission for 5 years. At the time of the current presentation, she was tachypneic (RR-30/min), oxygen saturation was 90% and auscultation of the lungs revealed diminished breath sound on the left side. Her pulse was 100/min with a blood pressure of 120/70 mmHg. Auscultation of the heart was normal. ECG was conducted which showed sinus tachycardia, without other changes. Lab tests showed mild leukocytosis with lymphopenia, mild thrombocytosis, and elevated inflammatory markers including D-dimer 5ug/mL, fibrinogen 653 mg/ dL, ferritin 950 ng/ mL, lactate dehydrogenase 660 U/L, C reactive protein 160 mg/ mL. X-ray of the chest showed extensive pulmonary consolidation with moderate pleural effusion and mild tracheal deviation to the right side. Further, a CT of the chest was performed which revealed pneumonia in the left lobe with left pleural effusion, and moderate pericardial effusion.QUESTION: 1. what are the assessments for the patient.2.
