Marc is a new graduate nurse (GN) for a general medical-surgical unit and has been in orientation for 3 weeks. His preceptor, Maggie, has been an RN for 11 years and has precepted many new staff nurses. Over the past 2 weeks Maggie has been more critical of Marc's work. She has been making snide comments about Marc's performance in the unit nurse's station that can be heard by other staff members.
