Question Answered step-by-step 1. Look at the situation in the Philippines now. List down the good… 1. Look at the situation in the Philippines now. List down the good and the bad things that globalization has brought to the country. What do you think are things we can do to lessen the negative effects brought about by globalization in our country? 2. Imagine you are given unlimited resources to solve two environmental problems found in the Philippines. What would these be and what are the programs you would choose to do to address these problems? 3. Different generations grew up in different times. It is because of this that they all have different values and standards of morality. How would you approach a situation where you meet someone from a different generation that have values very different from yours? What are some values and standards of morality found in your current generation that you think are better than the ones found in older generations? Why do you think this? 4. In the country today, there is an active attempt by some people to revise history and change the narrative on one of the darkest, most brutal times in Philippine history. From paying a company known as Cambridge Analytica to rebrand the Marcos name, to hiring a legion of online trolls, and to using many influencers and content creators spreading fake news and disinformation online, people in power have now made the truth harder to find in the Philippines. People who have been taken in by the disinformation refuse to acknowledge credible references not only by Filipinos but by neutral international bodies as well. Instead, they rely on videos and information spread through social media which can be easily disproven given real facts. With the people in power now using social media to manipulate and condition the minds of the citizens, there will come a time where we will resemble countries whose citizens simply follow their government and never question their officials even in the face of their government committing crimes against humanity. Having morals and ethics always drives us to strive for what is true and what is good. That is why this continued spread of fake news and disinformation to manipulate vulnerable people goes against universal ethics. Purposely turning a blind eye to the forced disappearances, torture, murder and rape done to Filipino citizens and the suffering they experienced due to the greed of one family and their cronies also goes against universal ethics and morality. As you are now, what are the things you can do to try and fight the fake news and disinformation that is going around online? What do you think are steps that schools should to take in order to ensure that young learners are equipped with the tools to identify and discern fake news and disinformation from true events and facts?
