UK CRIMINAL LAW Mick and Zoe were in a relationship. Zoe recently… UK CRIMINAL LAWMick and Zoe were in a relationship. Zoe recently broke up with Mick, which upset Mick as he thought Zoe was ‘the one’. Given this, Mick visits the house which they used to share at 11 p.m., knowing Zoe will be there. Mick does this multiple times, and when there, stands still and stares through the front room window at Zoe. These actions cause Zoe to suffer clinical depression which is diagnosed by a medical expert. Feeling that not enough harm has been done to Zoe, Mick speaks to his friend John early one morning and tells him to go to the house that he used to share with Zoe the following evening. Mick tells John to wait for Zoe to come out of the front door, and when she does, jump out of a hedge by the front door and shout “Boo!” John initially refuses saying “I can’t do that to Zoe, she’s lovely!” Annoyed, Mick shouts “You’re my friend, do it or I’ll break your arm!” Feeling he has no choice, John goes to the house the following evening, waits for Zoe to come out of the front door, and he then jumps out of the hedge and shouts “Boo!” This shocks Zoe, causing her to stumble and fall. Zoe hits her head on the ground and suffers a temporary loss of consciousness. Assess the criminal liability of Mick and John.
