Question Answered step-by-step THIS IS DUSCUSSION What aresomeethical issuesemergingfrom the use… THIS IS DUSCUSSIONWhat are some ethical issues emerging from the use of technology in healthcare?  As the use of technology in health care grows, some difficulties will inevitably arise. Privacy, confidentiality, security, application misuse, as well as ethical and legal issues, will all become more prevalent. The introduction of computers made it possible to organise and handle a vast amount of health data. The protection and security of data is a crucial need of this system. Because information can be accessed and connected throughout the country, if not the world, it makes it vulnerable to hackers. Nurses, in my opinion, should be well-informed about data security and be taught about positive methods that ensure protection in data. Confidentiality is the secure status and degree of privacy agreed between the individual and the organization receiving it by Kelly & McKenzie (as cited in Damrongsak & Brown, 2008). To also ensure protection of confidentiality, nurses must also be cautious about data access. Security arrangements for data storage and transmission of personal information should be established with passwords. Nurses should not be allowed to access information from their homes or even take work laptops home. Nurses should consider it an essential duty to take appropriate precautions to secure information collected on patients. Refernces Damrongsak, M., & Brown, C. I agree with you that with the use of technology, some difficulties arise including privacy, confidentiality, security, application misuse, as well as ethical and legal issues. Yes, you are right that computers and networks made it possible to organize and handle a vast amount of health data. However, I think that it is not right that nurses should be prohibited from accessing information from their residences or from bringing work computers home. Because I work at homecare, where I work remotely to provide patient care, without the technology and safe network access, it would be impossible to provide efficient safe patient care at patient homes and community levels.According to Afzal & Arshad(2021), the majority of the problems with the ethical issues introduced by digital technologies in healthcare are privacy, anonymity, security, and informed consent (p.3). Numerous ethical difficulties arise when electronic patient records are used without the patient’s consent. By disclosing a patient’s personal information, socioeconomic status, and different health characteristics, electronic data jeopardizes autonomy. As a result, health workers must adhere to the core principles of healthcare ethics, which include patient autonomy regarding disclosure and consent, as well as the patient’s willingness (Afzal & Arsha, 2021, p.3). However, health care practitioners who use technology in their settings must be aware of the inherent insecurity and privacy concerns with patient-sensitive information (Afzal & Arsha, 2021, p.4). Additionally, the sharing of unnecessary information and illegal access to electronic patient data between healthcare personnel and organizations are serious violations of their confidentiality (Afzal & Arsha, 2021, p.4). As a result, health policy must promote the use of safe, secure, and confidential electronic medical technology in order to improve the quality, care, and value of medical services. Although electronic medical technology has existed for a long period of time, its usefulness, efficacy, and application are constantly improving (Afzal & Arsha, 2021, p.4). ReferencesAfzal,S. & Arshad, A.
