Among the many pressing problems facing this department is the “turn over” of employees. Resignations from contracted personnel are very common. This situation is causing great economic losses to the Hospital since the follow-up process billing and charging for services is inconsistent.      The Department of Human Resources proposes to the top management of the Hospital to conduct a survey of the work climate to find out what concerns employees who make them quit in order to try to solve the problem. Top management, a priori, gives them total scope to do so and present the report to them as soon as possible. It is decided that the variables to be measured will be the working conditions, work environment and professional development with other subvariables in each of these sections.      In the first place, a communication work is carried out from the human resources department to explain what is intended to be done with this survey and what will be done with the results. All employees are informed that the results will be made public and that the actions to be followed by senior management will be reported urgently.     Employees decide to participate, filling out the anonymous survey and having a small interview with HR members so they can clarify their questions about it. Of course, confidentiality is guaranteed to avoid suspicions of any kind. They involve 99 per cent of the staff.      After the data collection the report is passed to the management and it comes to light that the main reasons why employees leave is because of the poor professional development that is offered, because of the economic issue, because they consider that their salaries are far below those of other hospitals, very chaotic and little motivation on the part of the Department’s previous supervisors.     Human Resources presents this report to senior management and they get upset when they see the results and tell human resources that they do not plan to change anything and that those who do not like it already know where the door is. Of course, the overall results were never made public by express order of the top management. The human resources department was discredited and the atmosphere even worsened among the employees as well as not improving the situation of frequent resignations.
