When trying to implement any kind of change in an organization, it is important to first explain the rationale behind the project. If the employees do not understand the reasoning behind the change, it will be difficult to get them on board. It is important to be clear about the goals of the project and how it will benefit the workplace. In our case, we are trying to improve the current way of doing things in order to increase productivity. I believe that by focusing on compassionate love and the employees’ needs, we hope to make a more healing and supportive environment. (Greenleaf, 1970).In addition to explaining the rationale behind the project, it is also important to show data or research that supports the project. This will help to convince skeptics that the project is worth pursuing. In our case, I can cite research that shows how shared leadership is correlated with team cohesion, conflict, vision, and support for innovation. This will help to show that our project has a strong foundation and is not just a whimsical idea. (Milani,Shanian, & El-lahham, 2006).Finally, I will address any concerns individually and work to find a compromise that is satisfactory for both parties. It is important to remember that not everyone will be on board with the project from the start. however, by addressing concerns and working together, it is possible to find a solution that everyone can be happy with. (Kotter, 2021).In summary, if I encounter pushback during the implementation of our project, I have a few plans to address resistance. First, I will explain the rationale behind the project and how it will benefit the workplace. Second, I will show data or research that supports our project. Finally, I will address any concerns individually and work to find a compromise that is satisfactory for both parties. Question: The three points you make are excellent. I especially like the first point because until people understand the rationale, they will continue to be ,somewhat resistant. When people are faced with a change, they want to know the answer to the age-old question “what’s in it for me”, commonly referred to as WIIFM. The challenge to answering that question (i.e. providing the rationale) is that it may be different for each person, unit and/or group. Providing an overall rationale may be a good start, but it might require “tweaking” for various people or groups. Does that make sense?
