Paper details
As I see it, there should be three main things you will want to do. One is to get up to speed on the theory of magic squares. A
magic square is a square grid containing numbers from 1 up to n arranged so that the total in every row, column, and diagonal
is the same. Then there are more exotic variants. You should be able to do find sources that explain how they are constructed
in modern terminology and then get some practice creating your own. This basic theory could then be an introductory section
of your paper. The next topic is something about the history of the discovery and development of the theory, mostly by
Islamic mathematicians in the 10th-14th centuries, I believe. The third section is to focus on the 18th century mathematician
called Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Fullani al-Kishnawi who was originally from Nigeria but lived in Cairo (died 1741).
He wrote a treatise on magic squares.
