You will choose one of the case studies to write up. You will be playing the part of a student in clinical training in the field of rehabilitation medicine. Part of the training exercise is to see if you understand the dynamics of the cases and then report them to your clinical supervisor. Your report of the case study should be about  pages in length. You may format your report in a method of your choosing. Your report should include:a brief summary of the caseidentification of the problem/concernthe biological nature of the concern (the systems that are affected)the psychological nature of the concernany research or information that is helpful to this study or supports your recommendation; *include all resources used*a conclusion and your recommendation for this case.Danny is a 17 year old high school senior.  He lives in a small Midwestern town where  everyone in the town watches and cheers high school sports.  Danny has been on the football team as their lead quarterback for the last year.  In this, his final year, he wants  to see the team win the state championship.  This has always been his dream and he  has worked hard the last three years is being scouted for a college scholarship.  He is  known all over town for his game and this year he hopes to make captain.  However at the end of last year, a new student moved into the area.  He was the quarterback of his  football team from a school in a neighboring state.  He is bigger, stronger and faster than Danny and plans to tryout for lead quarterback as well.  Several of Danny’s team mates and good friends have been using performance enhancers and have been  offering them to Danny.  As linebackers his friends have put on more than 20 lbs of  muscle, become less fat and increased their strength and endurance testing.  Now with  the new boy in town and increased competition, Danny has succumbed to taking steroids.  After 4 months of use Danny has put on 21 lbs of muscle.  He is larger, and  more defined.  He can run faster, train harder, throw the football further and feels like he has more energy.  He likes his new self but suffers from headaches and mood swings.  His parents and coach were suspicious when he would lose control and get angered easily.  He denies using, but regardless his parents have driven 100 miles to bring him into the clinic to see you.  Danny confesses to you that he is using Nandrolone.  Upon examination, Danny has anemia, and itchy skin.  He agreed to come with his parents  because he could feel fat tissue under his nipples as opposed to muscle.  Danny  refuses to stop taking steroids and sees that as letting go of his dream.  He would rather you give him something to counteract the unwanted side­effects.  Science Biology BIOL 130L Share QuestionEmailCopy link Comments (0)
