I need help comparing Japan’s Happy Planet Index with Japan’s GDP… I need help comparing Japan’s Happy Planet Index with Japan’s GDP (PPP). Could you help me compare the two?  I chose Japan, and Happy Planet Index scores them at 47.1 and ranked 57th out of 152 countries. However, they have gone down over the last four years. Their life expectancy is about 85 years with a 4.71 gha/p ecological footprint and wellbeing of 5.91 out of 10. Japan has a population of 126,86m, being 11th out of 152 countries and having a GDP of $41,667.20, ranking 29th out of 152 countries. Happy Planet Index also included that they do not directly reflect some of the negative impacts or abuses in their measurements. They acknowledge that human rights abuses are a problem in the world and even in most high-ranking countries.  Japan is ranked according to the List of countries by GDP per capita 44th. However, in 2021 they were ranked 43rd and 32nd in nominal, but nominal does not intel the cost of living or inflation rates. The GDP table has three different columns titled International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). As show in table 1, IMF $48,814 in 2020, World bank in 219 $42,197, and CIA in 2019 $41,429. They have a population in 2020 of 125.88 million est.
