Discussion board post.Maybe able to summarize the questions into one short answer.  “1.Personally I would use a SQL database for a registration system for a couple of reasons. NoSQL based systems are very good at horizontally integrating, however a school registration system doesn’t typically need to be adjusted in this manner. A SQL- based system allows for vertical integration which is much more appropriate for a registration system. For example, the new system needs to be flexible when dealing with the number of students (I am assuming the Montco has the intention of growing with its growing population here). A Non-relational model would not be appropriate because (again I am assuming here) Montco would not be interested in joining an expansive retail market. Another reason is SQL-based systems have a highly consistent design. Montco’s registration design would be very consistent and would not need to be updated significantly. It would be able to provide scale. Lastly incoming data would most likely not be coming from a large array of sources and would not require the flexibility the NoSQL creates. Since our data would be well structured at input an SQL-based database would be more prudent.” &  “2.I would recommend using a SQL-based database. SQL involves using relationships to organize the data and even if they are coming from an outside source, I would still have a relationship for the “back-end”.
